Natalie Franks

Natalie Franks is the principal solicitor and a director of Health Legal. Natalie has been providing legal services to the health sector for over 14 years and prior to commencing at Health Legal was a partner at a major national law firm.

Natalie was recently selected by her peers as one of Australia's Best Lawyers, in the specialty of Health and Aged Care, as published in the Australian Financial Review, 6 March 2009.

Natalie has been involved in managing and documenting substantial information technology, clinical and non-clinical tendering and outsourcing projects. She has also drafted a vast range and number of supply and service agreements and has acted as probity auditor for significant hospital outsourcing arrangements.

Natalie advises on exposure to liabilities, good governance, contractual relationships with doctors, privacy and strategic issues. She has also assisted with coronial investigations and represented hospitals at numerous inquests. 

 

Natalie has provided a wide range of advice covering all aspects of medicolegal issues, including, consent, medical records, confidentiality, refusal of treatment, privacy and other patient rights issues to most Victorian public hospitals. Natalie was a member of the former Commonwealth Minister of Health & Aged Care's Taskforce examining the introduction of electronic health records throughout Australia.

Natalie is responsible for ensuring that the clients of Health Legal receive the best possible service.
